Truck runners are a great accessory for a truck or SUV. They install right along the bottom of the chassis under the door to give you an easy step up into the vehicle. You can install truck runners in less than an hour if you follow these easy installation guidelines.

First unpack your truck runners from the packaging and make sure you have the following: instructions, mounting hardware and brackets, truck runner.

1. Next, locate the mounting holes for the truck runners under your vehicle door. If there are no holes you will have to drill them yourself. Line up the truck runners under the chassis and mark the spot for the holes with a dark magic marker. Use a carbide tipped bit and a power drill to make the holes. Make sure the bit matches the size of your truck runner installation hardware.

2. Line up the truck runners along the holes once again and then install the mounting hardware into through the mounting seats in the runners and into the mounting holes. Then attach the securing nuts to the bolts and thread them on a quarter of the way.

3. Hand tighten each bolt first, to ensure the truck running boards are set just the way you want them. Then tighten them with a ratchet to secure them to the frame.

Each truck runner is going to be a little bit different in terms of how it is installed. The manufacturers or each truck running board have various attachments, hardware and brackets to secure their steps to your truck. Follow your instructions carefully and to a tee, this ensures the process goes smoothly and prevents any major errors.
